Day to day is pretty simple... School, work, take Lauryn to dance or cheer. Although it is simple to say, it is not simple to do. All of these things combined keep me busy. So busy, that I am one month behind on updating the blog.
The big events of the month were Lauryn's first parent conference of the year, Halloween, cheering, and Lauryn's birthday. Mixed among those events were fun times with friends and a trip to Oklahoma for Grandma's funeral.
Lauryn was able to cheer with the high school cheerleaders at a game because the high school recognizes the peewee football league. She had so much fun at the game. They cheered for the boys before they ran through the tunnel (remember back in the day when the team just ran through some painted sign?), got to run through the tunnel, and go down on the field during the 3rd quarter. She cheered and stunted with the girls.
For Halloween, Lauryn decided to be a rockstar. Check out the bling!!!
Lauryn turned 7 this year. My mom came down a bit early to celebrate and catch Lauryn cheering. We made a cake and had a small party for just the four of us.
Her party this year was at home, complete with a bounce house, on Halloween. I made cute cupcakes that looked like pumpkins and witch's brew punch.
It rained all week leading up to the party so we were worried Saturday would be a mess. Fortunately, the sun was shining brightly and the countertop people left a roll of paper that we used as a walkway for the kids so that mud was minimal.
The next day, Lauryn had her breakfast of choice - chocolate chip pancakes with readiwhip topping. Grandad even taught her how to eat it from the can!
One of the gifts she received was this cute jacket vest with a furry hood from Nana and Grandad. This is perfect for how we do Houston cold = )
She also added to her American Girl collection with Rebecca.
Our next big task is thank you notes... That should be simple because she is writing and spelling so well. At the parent conference, her teacher told us that she is at least one year ahead in reading and writing. We are so proud of her!!! Harvard, watch out!
