My New Year's Resolution - a month later

Lauryn loves to check the blog and I recently realized that it has been ages since we have updated the blog. Holidays took us to Dallas and January brought us back to reality.

We spent nearly two weeks in Dallas. This allowed us to be with family for Christmas and the New Year and also a little time to see friends. We also were able to see quite a bit of snow.

I truly think that Sam may bring the snow with her. She has been to Dallas 4 times and snow has fallen twice. We even had a white Christmas! It snowed on Christmas Eve and stuck so that there was a blanket of white remaining when we woke up Christmas morning. Our nephew, Jacob, lives in Colorado and thought it was a little silly that we were so excited to see our inch worth of snow.

For those of you that don't follow college football, TCU did very well this year. They were ranked in the top ten all season and were invited to participate in the Fiesta Bowl. TCU fever was running rampant all over Fort Worth and the bug bit Sam. We took her around campus and she was sold. Frog Fever has gone into Arizona! Unfortunately, the Frogs didn't win the bowl game but I am hopeful for next year. As Cowboy fans, we are pretty used to waiting for what next year will hold with unbridled optimism. On that note, we had some success in that they beat the Eagles - twice. We had watched the Eagles beat the Cowboys on more than one occasion with our dear friends, Jana and Derek.

Lauryn is now starting the second half of first grade. Time has flown by!!! She has had 2 sleepovers, will be attending a Jonas Brothers concert, and continues to amaze us with her ever-growing knowledge base.

Tom has traveled every week since the year started. In his time home, he has managed to coordinate the beginning process of getting a new roof and has started the ball rolling on getting doors installed to turn the front area of the home into an official home office. All of this work, maybe he will be able to stop and take a deep breath to appreciated it... And I will update this blog more often...
