School's Out for the Summer

The end of May is such a busy time of the year, both at home and at work. Lauryn has recitals and end of the year events and I am busy trying to tie up loose ends, get students to summer school if necessary, and prepare for the next year. Lauryn's busy is much more fun!
We have completed another academic year and Lauryn has outperformed herself. We are so proud of how much she has accomplished this year and can not wait (maybe we can wait a little) to see what she does next year. The sky is the limit!!!
This year, our tiny dancer performed in several routines at recital. She has continued to add styles to her dance repertoire: ballet, jazz, and tap. At the start of the year, she would have said that ballet was her favorite, but I think that may have changed because she loved the routines for jazz and tap so much! It blows my mind that she can so simply switch from barre exercises to showcasing her sass in jazz and tap. Due to the way that the routines fell into place, we only captured shots in her jazz and tap costumes.
Jazz - Car Wash

Tap - Rockin' Robin

Since the school year has ended, we have enjoyed the pleasures of summer. Tom has hit up the golf courses like a man obsessed. He has even gotten clubs for Lauryn and they have gone to the driving range together several times. I tagged along one time and after trying to look natural on the driving range with 4 inch wedges, I have opted to sit out any further trips to the range.

We are spending time at the pool, enjoying our friends, and I slipped off for a concert, too. If you have not heard of Imogen Heap, I recommend searching her out. She is extremely talented! This is a shot of the stage at the Verizon Theater.

For Father's Day, Tom got a new bag with new clubs so that he can really tear up the courses. As excited as he was for the clubs, I think the highlight of Father's Day was cookie cake for breakfast!

We are looking forward to enjoying the remainder of the summer. Tom has some travel planned for work and we will be heading to Chicago for Sam's baby shower. We will continue to frequent the pool and enjoy our down time with each other and our friends. Happy summer!!!
