Disney Magic

The last 3 days of our California adventure was spent at Disneyland. While we were there, we ate with Minnie and some princesses, caught a few shows and a parade, and rode as many rides as we could fit. Our last Disney experience was Disney World over the New Year. The lighter crowds were a nice surprise and we loved that the weather was pleasant the entire time - especially because we knew that Houston was not as nice.

Lauryn is funny because she is still thrilled to see characters and nearly tackles them to hug them, yet she is also getting older and has discovered pin trading. The deal with pin trading is: you purchase some pins and a lanyard. As you come across people (Lauryn could only trade with Disney Cast Members, my rule) with pins, you may trade one of your pins for one of theirs. She purchased a Tink starter set and managed to trade 3 Tinks for 1 High School Musical, 1 Cheetah Girls, and 1 pirate Dale. As she rode rides, she also earned "Bravery Badges" as one Cast Member referred to the Matterhorn pin as.

When Tom graduated college, we took a trip to Disneyland. Since that time, the park has grown to include California Adventure. They have Lauryn's favorite ride, Soarin', the Tower of Terror, a great little roller coaster, and the coolest ferris wheel ever! As the ferris wheel goes around, the gondolas swing around on their own little tracks.

On our last day, Tom received a phone call with fantastic news. Prior to our flight on Saturday, Tom had flown to El Paso for an interview within UPS. He received the call that he did receive the promotion and is now the Region Sales Manager for UPS. What this means is that he is now responsible for the 9 states that generally comprise the Great Plains and all of the account reps and sales managers within that territory. We are so very proud of him!

And one more pic, just for fun! It is hard to read, but it is my favorite princess, Belle saying "I'm with Beast."
