Under the Sea

On Thursday, Lauryn had her dance recital. This year's theme was "Under the Sea" and she danced to In the Navy and Pearly Shells.

In the Navy was her jazz routine. This was her first year in jazz and this was probably the more difficult of the two routines. She loves the freedom and "sass" of jazz.

"Pearly Shells" was the ballet routine. She has been in ballet with 4 other girls and with the same teacher for the past 3 years. This was the last ballet that her teacher will choreograph because she is retiring this year. It was a little sad to see the curtain fall. I guess the girls thought so because they did not leave the stage until the lights turned off.

Seeing the routine made me think back to the previous recitals...

The first recital - Bluebonnet Ladies

The second recital - Dream a Little Dream

It is amazing how time has flown by! In the 3 years we have been doing dance, Lauryn had developed quite a passion for performing and has made some wonderful friends. We will be adding tap to the repertoire this summer...

We are so proud of our little dancer!

  1. You look beautiful, Lauryn! Garth and I were so sad that we couldn't make it! Maybe next time! :-)
